Grid Art Project!
My grid art project pictures are above. Creating this piece, I used my initials as the symbols and created a cool flattering pattern around the letters. The sweetarts and mosaic tiles used were just things I had that I thought would be interesting to use since they are completely different yet complement each other since they are opposite colors. I glued the pieces to old mirrors that I found at Goodwill and now I can hang them on the wall as a new art piece. While it seemed simple at first, getting the patterns and colors right turned out to be a lot more work than I thought. Overall I thought the project was fun and really love the work in the end.

i like how you used your initials (your signature mark) as the theme of this project. i also liked the traditional yes timeless mosaic work. very admirable.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Honestly one of my favorites. They both looked great, but the first one smelled better, lol. Great job!
ReplyDeleteGreat job! I would've had a hard time not eating the sweethearts while working on it! My favorite one is the mosaic...I really like the shine of the colors and the way that the L really pops out from the stripes. I also like the way that while the letters are different, they both have the striped pattern.
ReplyDeleteI love the tile one especially. It reminds me of a mosaic. It is so pretty and one I would like to see on pottery. Well done!
ReplyDeleteSeeing that recognizable color scheme of Sweet Tarts for the "K" piece was pretty cool (that candy was a pretty big staple of some households for Halloween) and to see them reconfigured into art was a nice surprise. I liked the contrast between the "L" and "K" pieces too (squares/circles,light/dark,etc.).
ReplyDeletedoing your initials was a unique idea that now one else thought of. i liked that you used different media and color schemes for both.
ReplyDeleteI really like that you used smarties for art and made it work! Using the glue on them to make the colors stand out worked well. I definitely loved the mosaic one as well, because I'm a huge fan of all the hgtv shows too :p.
ReplyDeleteI loved the sweet tart idea! Very creative and smelled yummy:)I thought both pieces were great and I loved the colors you picked, they looked like the real thing! Great work!!
ReplyDeleteI like the way the two separate pieces complimented the other with the pastel and bold colors. I also like the way you are able to see the mirror background through the candies. It really adds to the piece.
ReplyDeleteI liked how you used the candy to make your "K" it looks really cool and its very bright and colorful. Both of your grids came out great, the "L" even looks like it could be used as one of those things you put underneath hot plates to protect the table top...
